About

Why we built this

The Starkind is a home for anyone who has ever looked up and wondered. No credentials required. Just curiosity.

The idea

Astronomy has a welcome problem. Most sky-watching content online is written for people who already own a telescope, or it is dumbed down to the point of feeling patronising. There is not much in between.

The Starkind sits in that middle ground. We write for people who have just become curious. Maybe you saw a meteor shower. Maybe your kid asked a question you could not answer. Maybe the sky on a recent trip genuinely moved you, and now you want more. The pace assumes you have never heard the word ecliptic before, which is fine. We explain.

The voice

We aim for warm and patient, like an older relative who happens to know a lot about the sky and does not mind explaining the same thing twice. Nothing here is written with jargon for its own sake. Where technical terms appear, we define them. Where we are uncertain, we say so.

We try, genuinely, to avoid the two traps astronomy writing falls into. We do not want to sound like a textbook, and we do not want to sound like a children's book. The sky deserves a voice somewhere in between.

The family

The Starkind is part of NeuralChain Hub, a small Dubai-based company that builds digital products across sports, health, parenting, and now astronomy. We are a small team, a family really, and our other products include SportzGenesis Arena for sports prediction and The Guest for women's health.

The Starkind was built in a few weeks, mostly in evenings, with help from AI tools we use carefully and check against primary sources. The astronomy is real. The tools are real. The voice, we hope, sounds like people rather than a machine.

Who writes here

Praveen

Co-founder · Operations and technology

Praveen leads engineering and operations at NeuralChain Hub. He lives in Dubai and builds across the NCH product family, including SportzGenesis Arena, The Guest, and now The Starkind. When he is not building, he is usually thinking about what to build next.

Mridula

Co-founder · Content and community

Mridula is the public face of NeuralChain Hub and the editorial voice behind our family-focused content. She writes and reviews the articles in our Families pillar, and the parenting-related pieces across the wider NCH portfolio.

Anagha

Teen creator and contributor

Anagha is the creator behind The Tales of Tails and contributes to our Families pillar. She is part of the generation this site is really for: curious, questioning, and not afraid to ask the hard space questions out loud.

A word on cultural stories

Our Stories pillar covers constellation myths and astronomical heritage from many cultures. We treat these as history and storytelling. Not religious instruction. Not astrology. Not spiritual practice. We cite academic sources where we can, and we frame each piece as what we have learned from a culture, rather than speaking on its behalf.

If you spot something we have gotten wrong or misrepresented, please tell us. We would rather fix it than leave it.
